Safety Policy
F.J.C Design & Construction: Safety Policy
At F.J.C Design & Construction, safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all our employees, subcontractors, and visitors on our construction sites.
Our Commitment to Safety
- We comply with all relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, including the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
- We maintain a strong safety culture by fostering open communication, encouraging hazard identification, and promoting safe work practices.
- We provide ongoing safety training and inductions to ensure all personnel are aware of their WHS rights and responsibilities.
- We conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential hazards before incidents occur.
- We have a clear reporting system for safety incidents and near misses, and we investigate all incidents thoroughly to prevent future occurrences.
Responsibilities
- Management: We are committed to providing the necessary resources and support to ensure a safe work environment. This includes developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, providing training, and maintaining safe plant and equipment.
- Employees: All employees are responsible for working safely and following all safety policies and procedures. They are also encouraged to report any unsafe work practices or hazards they observe.
- Subcontractors: We require all subcontractors to comply with our safety policies and procedures and maintain their own WHS programs.
Our Safety Measures
We implement a comprehensive range of safety measures to protect our workers, including:
- Risk Assessments: We conduct risk assessments for all work activities to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS): We develop SWMS for all high-risk construction activities, outlining the steps required to complete the work safely.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): We provide and require the use of appropriate PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, and respirators, depending on the work activity.
- Site Security: We maintain secure construction sites to prevent unauthorised access and potential hazards.
- Emergency Procedures: We have clear procedures in place for responding to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, and spills.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continuously improving our safety performance. We regularly review our safety policies and procedures and implement new initiatives to further enhance safety on our construction sites.
Your Right to a Safe Workplace
We believe that everyone has the right to work in a safe environment. If you have any questions or concerns about safety on our construction sites, please don’t hesitate to speak to your supervisor or a member of our management team.
Building a Safer Future Together
By working together, we can create a safe and healthy work environment for everyone involved in F.J.C Design & Construction projects.
